Three girls, seven suitcases and one plane ride… Elluminize has officially landed in Los Angeles for the American Music Awards! The trip truly began Thursday night as our team packed 250 Elluminize reusable gift bags into suitcases, along with postcards and Brazilian candy. We started off this morning with the breakfast of champions (tacos of course) which were followed by your average hustling to the airport and through security- not to mention a pat down for Ize’s voluptuous curls. We landed in the city of angels right as the sun was setting ecstatic about what the weekend had in store. Two handsome bell hops and friendly sarcasm on our light travel was the perfect welcome to our stay at the Luxe in the heart of downtown, parallel to the Lakers’ Staples Center. Our rooms define the modern and high-ended fashion of L.A, comprised of a Madonna painting and a wall-art collage of lashes (how did they know?) With the night ahead of us, we are prepping for tomorrow’s gift-giving pre-AMA event and ready to marvel in L.A. culture!

The essence of self-fulfillment and endearing beauty of Elluminize Mink Lashes is brought to life through the lens of videographer Lupe Nunez in his latest work to be released this fall. The video, just short of two minutes, captures the idea of Elluminize lashes signifying glamour, attainment and exponential confidence.
Shot in the scenically breathtaking location of Big Bend National Park, we are first taken to a young woman driving, herself and the journey appearing lost and desolate. It is not until the seemingly defeated protagonist gets out of her car to be captivated by a glimmering image in the distance. The image- a woman embodying strength, allurement and stunning features; the illusion symbolizes everything the protagonist aspires to be.
The short film finalizes with a transformation of the once demure woman to a fearlessly strong female embracing sex appeal and confidence. Nunez brilliantly portrays Elluminize’s ability to help women feel beautiful and fulfilled through high-end services.

While Elluminize is known for its high-end product and services, we only feel it’s right to pair up with a photographer of equal caliber. Meet Rachel Kay, the San Francisco-born who has been photographing professionally since 2005 and has an incredible knack for capturing further beauty than what meets the eye.
Initially interested in the arts while in her sophomore year of high school, Kay later earned her license at the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts.
Her inspirations toward the lens craft stemmed from having a background in figure drawing and painting. “I have always been fascinated with light and textures and how they play with one another. Photography was a more efficient way to capture this beauty,” says Kay.
When it comes to styles, Kay’s favorites are architectural and movement due their technically driven attributes. Her inspirations can be credited to having an appreciation to the smallest details in life that most often go unnoticed. Over the years Kay has looked up to photgraphers such as David Lachapelle, for his elaborate set design, along with Julius Schulman for his individuality and ability to see shapes in a unique way.
Kay landed her first gig shooting an HGTV television host and later moved on to gain publicity through work of mouth referrals. She has won several awards and has been mentioned in magazines such as Austin Monthly, Austin Home and San Antonio magazine. Stay up to date with our blog and website to catch some of Kay’s amazing work with Elluminize!

“Lights, camera, action,” three simple words that are made even simpler when working with photographer Rachel Kay. Kay’s way of direction, knowledge of equipment and excellent lens craft implements any shoot to run smoothly.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Kay on a shoot depicting the before and after look of my new Elluminize Mink Lashes. Having zero experience with modeling or even an idea of proper posing, Kay’s clear and comfortable directing skill helped me retain and deliver what was desired for the shoot.
As any photographer will tell you, the perimeters of workspace are not always ideal, however one must play the hand they’re dealt. While we shot in a small studio, Kay’s ability to work in any environment was proven immediately. It was made clear she knows how to configure her equipment more than adequately as well as move quickly with set up and station changes to waste no time.
During each shoot, (before and after), I was concisely guided with where to look and how to angle myself. Again, I’m definitely no professional when it comes to modeling and felt fortunate to work with a photographer who vocalizes their needs while making you feel comfortable the entire time. When it came to expressing emotion, Kay made jokes to help me deliver laughter and playfulness, as well as tips to provide a more serious look.
Elluminize is lucky to have immense talent on board!
