The slip dress has been one of our favorite trends for the past year. But with the cold weather upon us, it can be a difficult piece to pull-off. That’s why we decided to put together some tips on how to wear your slip dress for the winter–without losing the sultry edge.
Here’s some of our favorite outfit ideas:
·Adding a t-shirt under your dress can feel a little too 90s, but trust us, it’s super chic! You can do a long sleeve or short and it can even be a turtle neck. Add thigh high boots to keep your legs protected from the cold, and if that’s not enough, a white parka would match perfectly with this outfit!
·Very European, add a sweater on top of your dress. This grungy look is super comfortable for running your errands during the day, or grabbing some coffee with friends. Add some chunky boots to complete the ensemble.
·Try adding pants under your slip dress for a chic going out outfit! Keep this simple, add your favorite pair of heels and a simple bracelet. All the New York City street style stars will be envious of your look.
·Your slip dress can be perfect for work when you add a crisp white blouse underneath. Be sure to keep the lace at a minimum with this one. Add some show stopping boots and you’re ready to go!

Unless you are a lawyer, then it is not necessary to wear a suit to the office. You can look fashionable and professional in printed skirts, bright colored blouses, and wide slack trousers. There is always a level of appropriation for every office, and we have a few winter trends for 2016 that are not only acceptable but also very chic.
- Knit Sweaters. Knit sweaters are a must-have for the winter. Whether it is a chunky cable knit sweater or dress, or a high fashion small knit cardigan, knits will be your go-to for the season.
- Layering necklaces. Layering necklaces can really bring a look together. We suggest you try this trend moderately to prevent the Mr. T look. Wear no more than three layers that complement each other in style. Place them in the order of small, big and biggest when arranging your layers.
- Flair Trousers. Flair trousers may seem intimidating but believe us, it’s not! To master this 70s inspired look today, just keep your top fitted. This will help keep your look balanced.
- Classic Black Boots. In the office you may want to keep your boot style simple so opt for a fashionable patent leather boot with a reasonable heel height. Black is a must-have for the season because it very versatile for your changing wardrobe.
- Solid Colored Winter Coat. The most important fact when choosing a coat is whether of not the coat is warm enough (so think about that first). After that find a fashionable solid color coat that fits your style. Want to show off you small waist? Choose a jacket with a belt.
- BONUS TIP: Always be confident in both your business smarts and style because it will make your comrades respect you more.

When you hear the words “1950s” and “makeup,” it’s hard to not picture beauty icons like Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marilyn Monroe. These women transformed the world of makeup to how we know it today. Audrey Hepburn once stated that she “believed in pink” — and who can argue with that? A new emphasis was placed on having a youthful look in the 50s. Skincare products went hand-in-hand with the traditional ‘face paint;’ new sciences created the first non-smear lipstick, and eyeshadows were now popular in a wide-range of colors! The 1950s were truly the golden age of makeup.
Here’s how to get the look:
·THE FACE. Much like the decades before, the 50s had a focus on flawless skin. This was done by heavy “pancaked” foundation. Ladies of the time started with a liquid foundation and finished it off with loose powder. This is still a great way to get flawless skin, luckily today’s liquid foundations look a lot more natural. To complete the look, finish off with a bit of concealer to cover dark spots, and pink blush, apply on the cheeks and the forehead!
·THE EYES. The 1950s are know for the pin-up look, created by the cat eye. What set this decade apart was taking the black eyeliner almost to the crease of the eyelid, and creating a more triangle shape by doing so. Women also used eyeliner on the bottom of the eye for the first time, apply only from the center of the eye and out to mimic the look. Add mascara only on the top lashes to finish it off!
·THE BROWS. The eyebrow of the time was extremely important. Brows were thick like we have today, but very arched making an almost unnatural look. They were heavily penciled in too. Recreate the look by penciling in a pointed arch in the center of your brow, blend to disguise any harsh lines.
·THE LIPS. Lips were very well-defined at the time. Use a lip liner to create an everlasting “smile” effect. And pink pink pink, was definitely the color of the time! Typically seen still with a reddish hue, pink is an important color that completed what was a natural look at the time.
1950s makeup is one of the most glamorous looks around, we love the idea of finishing it off with a classic white dress à la Marily Monroe. Let us know how you will wear the makeup of the 1950s!

As beauty enthusiasts we love any new product or trend. And this week we’re obsessed with the 24 kt gold skincare products! Cool, Right? This time we found the UQ 24 kt gold eye patches! The product claims to have nano gold particles that are one two-thousandth the size of your pore, giving it the ability to really penetrate the skin. By doing this, it stimulates the metabolism and the collagen producing parts of cells. We’re hoping this product will make us feel and look youthful!
So we gave it a try:
We first asked our friend Gina to give us her review. She has combination skin and fine lines around her eyes. The first time she tried them she was really impressed with how easy the patches were to use, I know I’ve definitely had my days of eye patches slipping off my face constantly. After placing the patches under her eyes and leaving them per the directions, Gina thought they definitely helped reduce dark circles and hydrate her skin.
Since Gina loved them, we decided to let our friend Heather try them too! She has oily and blotchy skin. She started out by applying them under her eyes and leaving there for 20 minutes, noticing how relaxing it was having them on! After removing, Heather said her eyes looks less puffy.
All around good reviews for the UQ 24 kt gold eye patches! We’re moving to the entire face mask next! Let us know how you like them!

Expressing your personal fashion style at work can be difficult. There’s a very fine line between profession and unprofessional at the office. But what’s wrong with a blazer? Absolutely nothing if you can mix it up a bit now and then! Keeping the colors demure, you can upgrade your entire work closet with a new blazer style.
Here’s some of our favorites:
·Try a cape! This dramatic style will definitely catch the attention of your coworkers, but for all the right reasons. We love this cape in white because it will go with anything. Try styling it with wide leg pants and a secretary blouse.
·The military jacket is super chic. Stay away from the army style and go for a double breasted look for work. Set the Parisian in you free and add some skinny pants to this one. Finish the look off with a colorful handbag and ankle boots!
·The pajama jacket can be a tricky one, but you can nail it by adding it to a full skirt. Use the skirt to glam-up the look and keep you away from the “I just rolled out of bed” look. Take it a step further with a chunky necklace and bracelet.
·The peplum style is the most flattering. It emphasizes curves in all the right ways. Add a peplum to your favorite body hugging skirt and stilettos. Really let everyone know you’re in charge!
·The boat neck is a classic style. We don’t see this too often, but when done right, the boat neck make for an elegant look. Keep it young by adding a pink skinny pant, or boyfriend jean. Combine it with you hair in a bun and you’ll be the biggest fashionista in the room.
