There’s a new technology in hairstyling, it’s called Tourmaline. This “science of fabulous” emits maximum ionic heat to safely penetrate every hair strand. Giving you the look you want, without the costly damage.

The T3 Hot Rollers ($99) are one of the first products to harbor the new design, and we decided to give them a try:

·Out testee was Taylor, age 25. She described her hair as being fine, thick, and long. It was her first time using this product. Her best advice for how to use the product is to watch the Youtube video the T3 company made.

·Taylor used the rollers by first sectioning her dry hair into 8 sections; 2 on each side with 4 in a line from her forehead to her neck. Then she rolls the large sections when the rollers are hot! Taylor likes a strong curl, so she opts to leave them in her hair until the indicator on the end of each roller turns white, about 20 minutes. Then she takes them out, lets her hair cool for another 10 minutes, and uses her fingers to break-up the curl to give a tousled look!

·Taylor loves the product and now uses it about 3 times a week! She loves the volume the T3 Hot Rollers gave her hair, and the little frizz it came with. The curls even hold 2 days for her.

·The one downside to the rollers? Taylor said that occasionally the rollers would not heat properly. Because of this she was left checking the plug-in connection often to make sure it was heating.

·Despite this, Taylor would absolutely recommend the product to her friends! And she even said if the product stopped working, she would purchase another one herself. Totally worth it.

If you’re wanting big voluminous hair without the hassle of a curling iron, this is definitely the product for you. Keep your hair healthy with the new T3 Hot Roller Tourmaline technology. Try it out, let us know what you think!

Summer has passed, but that doesn’t mean the sun won’t shine. It’s definitely not the time to neglect your eyewear, and with the new winter trends, you won’t want to! But this season’s runway focus wasn’t on the frames on your face, but rather the lenses within them.

Here’s this winter’s biggest sunglass styles:Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 3.34.56 PM

·Gradient lenses are huge this winter! These come in a variety of styles and colors. This lens is a great way to add some fun to your look! Instead of going all-out with a bold color, try this demure style.Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 3.35.21 PM

·Mirrored lenses are the most rock ‘n roll of them all. Channel your inner Axl Rose with gold or silver mirrored lenses this winter. Not only do they look super cool, they are a great way to hide your eyes on those lazy winter mornings.Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 3.35.25 PM

·Go bold this season with colored lenses! Bright and bold, these sunglasses stole the show at this season’s runways with designers like Opening Ceremony and Kenzo leading the charge. This youthful trend will make you forget it’s not summer. Try pairing them with your coziest white sweater and denim jeans!Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 3.35.06 PM

·Clear nonprescription glasses have been a big trend for a while, and they aren’t going anywhere. Not only are they here to stay, they’re keeping their nerdy edge. Custo Barcelona and Gucci featured large frames with clear lenses like these. Add them to a printed tea length dress to complete the look.Screen Shot 2016-05-25 at 3.34.47 PM

·Blacked-out frames are the perfect accessory for winter. Keep your eyes protected and combine these with your everyday uniform to add some mystery!

Transcending Style: 1940s

December 20, 2016 § Leave a comment

From Lauren Bacall to Rita Hayworth to Lucille Ball, the 1940s was the beginning of the true movie star takeover. This was also the time of war and war rationing. These two factors came together to create a new look, it was simple, colorful, and youthful! Hemlines were now at the knees, and women even began to wear shorts! The 1940s were definitely an exciting time in the history of fashion.

Here’s how to translate the looks of the 1940s to your wardrobe now:

·The daily wear for women of the 1940s was demure and understated, but very well accessorized. Women began to experiment with new prints like leopard and paisley. Mostly in scarfs and furs! There was a noticeable influence in fashion from the Hollywood movie stars, all the looks were jet setter and sun ready. Get this look today by adding a wide brim hat to your favorite summer outfit! You can add an elegant touch to any outfit this way, no need for a skirt suit.

·Play wear for women is reminiscent of what we see today, bright colors and tighter fits! You can’t help but to look at this outfit and be excited for a picnic in the park. To get the look, wear your favorite pair of high waisted pants. Add a colorful belt, and we suggest to skip the sweater and opt for a tank top, tucked it in, and you’re ready to go!

·Surprisingly, the most simple look of the 40s was found in the “going out” dress. A simple sweet heart neckline and silk fabric was combined to create an elegant look. You can do the same with a slip dress today.

·The one thing that wasn’t understated in the 40s was the jewelry! It was all about big round earrings and statement necklaces. You can get the look by accessorizing your ears to the max, add a sparkly ear cuff for a real statement.

How will you wear the looks of the 1940s? Let us know!

If you’re like us, every time you pass the beauty isle you can’t help but to sneak a peek! There’s no “I just bought some the other day” because we’re always on the look-out for a great new conditioner! It was on one of these disjunctures from our daily errands that we ran into AG Thikk Rinse Volumizing Conditioner. We looked the product up, and it is specifically supposed to be effective on fine hair.

So we gave it a try:

Our first guinea pig is Denise her hair is thin and fine. It was her first time using the product and she was super excited! Denis started off by using the product just once a week so she could really tell if it was working! The desired effects were volume but without icky residue. This definitely was the product for Denise. The loved that the product smelled amazing and didn’t weigh her hair down.

With the success we had with the first tester, we decided to see how it worked on someone with thick hair! Our friend Angie used the product similarly to Denise. She started off only using it three times a week. Angie said the product was great! It helped detangle her hair in the shower, a rarity, and it didn’t weight her hair down once dry! She loved the texture and smell too.

So it seems the AG Thikk Rinse Volumizing Conditioner isn’t just for fine hair after all! Denise and Angie highly suggest you give this product a try if you’re looking for volume and a great smelling conditioner! Let us know how you like it!

Creating a Modern 1960s Makeup Look

December 13, 2016 § Leave a comment

The 1960s were all about getting “the London Look.” The fashion explosion brought with it Mod eyes that set 1960s makeup apart. With models like Twiggy and Penelope Tree rocking the look, this was a time of youthful expression–leaving caked-up foundations behind and letting the true you shine through.

Here’s how to get the look:

·THE FACE. Showing-off your natural freckles and moles was very popular in the 60s. This was done through the use of powder! A lot was used at the time, but we suggest a thin coat of mineral power to get the same effect.

·THE EYES. Eyeliner was a very important makeup tool. Shifting away from the cat eye, eyeliner was used on the upper eye and was extremely thick. A white eyeliner was then used from the inner corner of the eye and outlined the black layers on the eyelid, creating an other-worldly effect. Eye shadow was drawn in a large oval above the lid, usually in a blue, grey, or white. Fake eyelashes were very popular, and mascara was extremely thick and almost clumpy on both the bottom and top lashes. Without adjustment, this is a very wearable look today.

·THE LIPS. Lips for the first time in history took a step aside and were out-shined by the eye. Women often wore a pale lipstick with a bit of shimmer, and lip liners were not very popular. Use a nude to pink lip gloss today to keep it simple like the women of the 60s.

There you have it, the makeup of the 1960s was all about the eyes. Try experimenting with different eyeliner shapes and eyeshadow colors! Let us know how you will wear the Mod makeup look in the comments!
